At last, development of the Totem Centre has begun. The site has been a tip for too long. There is nothing nostalgic about the old centre: it was a very sad place. The old Totem Centre did nothing to enhance the affluent suburbs of the Balgowlah, Seaforth, Clontarf, Balgowlah Heights area. Well done Stockland for their persistence with Manly Council and bringing some class into the almost derelict Balgowlah centre.

What a dump. This is the centre of the affluent Northern Beaches suburb of Balgowlah. It looks like something from a third world country. We look forward to the opening of the new Stockland 'Balgowlah Village' development.

"STOP" sign end of Balgowlah Road
What road planning genius decided on the STOP sign at the end of Balgowlah Road (by Manly Swimming pool). So many cars are rear-ended when they stop (as is legally required) at this ridiculous sign. Is it simply revenue raising? Or just incompetence? Let us know your views. Views
"The STOP sign in question is ridiculous! Why don't they put in a roundabout like every similar intersection has - this would help traffic coming both ways along Balgowlah Road as well as traffic coming down Kenneth St." ....Clinton Balgowlah ( ed..But think of the lost revenue in fines for 'not stopping for about 3 seconds' )
Flood Lights Middle Head Oval (Mosman)
Floodlights on Middle Head oval are often left-on all night Residents of Manly, Fairlight and Clontarf have these bright lights beaming into their bedrooms all night. Mosman council really has too much money and obviously no regard for the environmental impact of these lights. You would thing they would be on a timer. Fine, keep them on for helicopter landings during military emergencies, but not just because no-one shuts them off after a footy training session.
"They shine directly into our bedroom - all night".... Belinda Clontarf

Bareena Park Tennis Ladder - Committe members for the Bareena Park Tennis Club voted against the establishment of a tennis ladder. ( Ed... We understand they are looking to increase the membership, but obviously the introduct of a Tennis ladder is far too radical for the club committee. Remember Strictly Ballroom where they 'danced their own steps'! )
